Another PCMC trip...

Yesterday we made the 3hr trek AGAIN to Primary Childrens Hospital. With Ryder and Noah in tow, {Ridge stayed with grandma} we made it {barely, but thats a whole different story...}

We went to see Dr. Randall, {Ryders Ortho doc for his legs}. No change, good or bad for his legs. His left leg hasn't caught up any to the right leg, but it hasn't gotten any worse {bowed} either. So the next step is to schedule a surgery date for August. Late August more than likely, so he is hopefully off of the steroids he is currently on for the Minimal Change Nephrotic Syndrome. {more on that later} The plan is to place an "8" plate on the outside growth plate of the left knee to straighten it out more {Again}, and to remove 2 of the screws from the "8" plates that are on the right knee to allow the growth plates to "breathe" so they don't forget how to grow. Phew!

Ryder also has an inguinal hernia. I asked Dr. Randall if we could possibly speak with Urology and be able to fix that at the same time we do the ortho surgery in August and he didn't see why not sooooo...now we schedule an appt. with a Urologist for sometime next month. On the bright side, Dr. Randall gave me the name and number of the bes....well not the best he said, they are all good, which I am sure they are {but he is probably the best}. He said this Urologist is always booked way out, but to "drop" his {Dr. Randalls} name if I have too and he will get us in!

As for the Minimal Change, it hasn't come back thus far and things are looking good. Starting the 1st of July we are starting to wean him off the steroids and hopefully be done! Please pray for no relapses. Poor kid just can't seem to catch a break!

On this visit, I was also able to visit a good friend and fellow NICU mom, Shelly. I was able to go and hold her little Brinnlie who is still in the NICU at Primarys. What an awesome visit! Thanks Shelly! I hope you are able to bring her home soon! She looked so good. I was hoping some of Noah's old primaries were working, but no one was Darn it! Oh well...

The biggest Gainer!

Noah, last week you weighed 9lbs 4oz, in order to survive elimination you must have gained at least 1lb... Dunt, dunt, dun...

Would you please get every last article of clothing off and get on the scale... {flying diaper, snaps popping, hearts pounding...}

Todays weight is............................................................10lbs 4oz!!!!! You did it! Congratulations, you are safe from elimination for another week.

Boys will be boys...

Whoops...thats not supposed to happen!

Heading to the Stallings family reunion in Indian Springs on Saturday, we had a minor {Thankfully not Major... i.e. hitting someone else on the road!} incident.
We were dropping a neighbors trailer off on our way, and on the highway {60 MPH} the trailer came off! It was a run down trailer that had no safety chain {we found out firsthand why thats a law!} and we went over the railroad tracks and it bounced right off! Thankfully it didn't hit anyone {there were bikers behind us and a car had just passed!} It did however, lodge itself a couple feet into the embankment on the side of the road! It took some work, but we managed to get it out and back on the truck.

Whats that Mom?!

We all know Noah is a bit of a piggy when it comes to eating {understatement of the year} and lately it seems to have gotten even worse. It seems I can't keep him full...EVER! So I started him on rice cereal today. Seriously SOOO funny! The pictures and video only show the beginning, but after a few minutes, Mr. Noah was not a happy camper. He was not pleased that it wasn't a continuous flow of food the whole time. Lets just say we saw a little {Okay, a lot} of the McBurney temper flare up! Hmmm... I guess tomorrow is another day! :)

Noah is 6 months old today!

I can't believe Noah is 6 months old already! Looking back, it felt like an eternity spent in the hospital, but now seems like it was so long ago. One of Noahs' favorite things to do these days {Eating is still his #1 priority...} is "hang out" in his jumperoo. He is sooo cute, I couldn't keep this video to myself. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video!

A good story...

The setting: A sleepover at Grandma and Grandpas house two nights ago

The characters: Ridge, Mason {cousin}, and Grandma Sheri

The plot: Grandma Sheri reading Ridge and Mason a bedtime story when the following conversation occurs...

Mason says, "Grandma, do you know I speak Spanish?"

Grandma Sheri says, "Oh you do?!"

Not to be outdone......

Ridge says, "Grandma, do you know I speak uhhhhhhh, Watermelon???"

{Grandma Sheri laughs hysterically...}

THE END

I am so sad I missed that conversation! I laughed so hard when I heard it. I am sure he just blurted out the first thing that popped into his head! We did have watermelon at dinner that night...

Lights, Camera, Action!

We were invited to be a part of the Primary Childrens Miracle Network Telethon on KIDK {channel 3} today. What a fun experience! We were asked to come and share {LIVE!} about our time at Primary Childrens. Noah did great! He definitely stole the show, on and off camera!

Noah River

Another trip to the pediatrician today for a weight check. At our last visit the doc was concerned he wasn't gaining enough, so we started fortifying any breastmilk he gets in a bottle. Todays magic number is.........9lbs 5oz. The verdict? That'll do.

On a side note, COULD HE BE ANY CUTER!? {Okay, maybe I am a little biased}
